He nearly lights up in excitement before giving a rushed shake of his head. “I shouldn’t be selfish! Besides, I already have the support of my fans! Knowing that all of you care about me is more than I deserve! I’m already happy!”

He smiles, “Right! I’ll suggest into Totoko, and she’ll kick my backside into space! No way, no how, I can’t suggest that! Unless it’s her idea, or there’s a petition or something with enough signatures to make us top the charts, there’s no way she’d let me do that! I’d be destroyed on sight!”

@pixie-six “Uh. Zoinks? Wouldn’t Jyuushimatsu be a better Scooby, by the way?” He rubs at his temples. “I’m trying to stay afloat on a sea of smut, and my boat isn’t sturdy at all.”

He grins. “I do! I have for ages! I’ve been fighting my way through for years, and I’ve been in the top thousand a few times! Picking a favorite was tricky, but. I can’t be a DD, you know? You need to be decisive with your oshis! That being said… I really, really like Hanayo, with Kotori close behind!” He’s almost squealing, save yourselves.

“They’re both honest about what they like, and they’re both absolutely adorable, but Hanayo has a bit of an advantage to me. Her relative modesty and intense love for idols, the culture surrounding them, and knowledge of the work that they put in gets me right in the heart, you know? I hate the fact that so many of them are put in such skimpy stuff sometimes– they’re kids, and they’re in high school, they’re insecure and underage!– the music is catchy and it’s so much fun to play, even if I have a heart attack every time I flub up a combo!”

He has to catch his breath, give him a minute.

“Green bean. Oh, well, I’ve heard worse.” He smiles a bit sadly. “No, I haven’t. If anything, because I haven’t been able to attend more than maybe two of her concerts recently, I’ve been seeing her less! When Totoko said she was the opposition, my merch pretty much became illegal contraband!”

He actually gasps. “You really think so? You’re not just making fun of me, right? I’m. I’m actually cute to someone!” That is not a noise of despair: it’s the sound of his heart melting a little!

“Please, believe me, compared to what I’m getting from everyone else, this is probably actually what hope looks like.” He frowns. “That’s kind of sad, isn’t it.” He hums in consideration before answering. “I really like green grapes, especially in the hottest days of summer when you can freeze them. My favorite smell would be either fabric softener or old books. The paper breaks down a bit over time, and because of some chemical similarities, it smells a little like vanilla, doesn’t it?”

He blinks in amazement. “Two sweet fans! Things are looking up!” He waves a hand in front of him in embarrassment, “It’s really not that lovely, I always worry that it sticks out too much from everyone else, but! I’ll make it through the inappropriate ones if it means I get to talk to my fans. You deserve it, you know?”
