The platonic pairing names, which I have linked at the end of this post, are meant to be a safe haven for people who don’t like blmxtsu. If you draw romantic Ichi x Kara, ONLY tag it Kara.ichi or Ichi.kara. If it’s platonic, tag it as iromatsu, NOT as the ship name! If you don’t care how people interpret it, your best bet is to tag it as platonic so everyone can enjoy.
Let’s work together and make the Osomatsu-san community safe for everyone! If you see someone misusing the platonic or romantic tags, try politely messaging them and linking them to this! Remember, it’s important to be kind to everyone even if you disagree with them. If they aren’t kind back to you, you can always block them!
Please spread this post so people who don’t know about the platonic ship names can tag their works correctly!
It’s on an American station. It’s captioned in English, for the stateside viewers who don’t know the language.
“What’s up, United States? It’s already the new year for us here in Tokyo!” says Osomatsu, waving at the camera.
“Hello from the future,” Karamatsu says, with a suitably dramatic hand gesture. “It shines brightly, doesn’t it?”
“We’re really glad that some of you have come to like our group! Just because it’s already past midnight for us,” Choromatsu declares, looking at Ichimatsu to finish the sentence.
He shrugs. “It doesn’t mean we can’t help you ring in yours.” That’s all you’re getting.
Jyuushimatsu is clearly reading off of a cue card. “Tune in tonight, the time will be on the screen! We’ll be appearing about half an hour before the ball drops in New York!”
“Make sure you stay cozy in the cold, and get ready for a new song especially for this event!” Todomatsu jokingly whispers, “You’ll be able to stream it on our site, too!”
“Get ready to power through 2017 with…”
“F6!!!”
And they’re clear! Man, they had to talk fast to fit that in.
[ Read here for background information on this event! ]
When is it?
January 3 – 4, 2017. In universe, it will take place over one evening, but the event will last for two days on this blog so that everyone’s questions can get answered.
What’s going to happen?
Each of the Artists of the Year (Atsushi, Nyaa Hashimoto, Totoko Yowai, and The Same Faces) will be given a block of time to perform songs and respond to fan letters live on the air. I’ll be posting songs and letters throughout the event.
Atsushi, Nyaa, and Totoko will have their times on January 3rd. Since everyone’s most excited to talk to The Same Faces, they’re going to get all of January 4th.
How can I participate?
Send in a question, a song request, or a message for any of the artists. Please make it short enough to fit in an ask. They’ll only be reading letters, so this isn’t an event where you’ll be going up to the stage and talking to them or giving them gifts.
This is also a chance to get to know some of the other artists in this AU, so it would be nice if you asked them questions about themselves. They’ll get moody if you only ask them how they feel about The Same Faces.
If possible, send in your asks before the event! Say you want to ask Atsushi something, but you don’t send it in until his block of time is over with. He won’t get that letter. Don’t make him sad. :c
And please, make sure you specify who your ask is for!
a new law is about to be passed in Saudi Arabia that will allow the government to execute people for coming out or being openly gay online.
ignoring the fact that this is literally something out of some kind of dystopian novel, in the interests of safety i’ve emptied out my face tag and may temporarily deactivate or password protect this blog.
please reblog this and get the word out, and if you pray, please pray for me and my fellow Saudi LGBTQ+/MOGAI family.
ALSO, for those who need it [x]. its a post on erasing all traces of yourself from the interwebs.
this is not something to read and keep to yourself. please spread this around. may Allah keep everyone safe.
What the hell
People, this stuff is serious and seriously wrong. I do hope that you are able to survive this send it to a safe space.
[ Official announcement of the event teased here! – Mod Daisy ]
Ladies and gentlemen and everybody else in between and beyond, as promised, it’s the one and only –
196X POP MUSIC GRAND PRIX!
The stars you’ve chosen this year have been especially bright!
We would like to congratulate this year’s Grand Prix winners, and you can see them on television next week as all of these artists give live performances at the official awards ceremony!
Whether you can be there or not, you may still have a chance to be noticed. Further details coming soon!
Although they need no introduction to most of you, here are our winners:
((as i attempt to finish the little carol event [and maybe announce something?], check out what these other musical Matsunos are doing! Get excited!!!))
theres a new product by verzion called “hum” that allows your parents to track your car and places you go, if your parents are controlling like mine please check under your steering wheel to make sure that they havent installed this
here is what it looks like installed:
you can read more about it here, and here– this excerpt sums up what information Hum will send:
“a car’s owner will be able to get notified on their phone when the vehicle leaves a pre-determined area or drives faster than a set speed… [Hum] will enable location tracking and a driving log, which measures travel times, engine idle times, and average speeds.”
People in abusive relationships, please check your cars.
Todomatsu can’t help but smile. “Look at that, our subunit’s first again!” That’s one wicked little grin he has pointed at the others.
“There’s no need to brag,” Karamatsu says, obviously just as prideful. “We have more important things to tend to. Taking a frozen, holy night, and filling every cold silence with a song, bringing light to–”
“So you brought candy canes for us? Really?” Todomatsu pouts for cuteness’ sake while Karamatsu pouts a bit more grumpily. “We can’t eat them until our break, but it would warm our hearts in all this cold!”
Karamatsu cherishes his time in the lobby– no snapped guitar strings from the cold. “A classic duet, brother?”
“Are you sure? I know you like the higher part better, and I can’t hit those low notes,” Todomatsu says, sitting next to Karamatsu on the gift-wrapped bench next to the prop present pile.
“I’m sure. You can do this.”
“… Isn’t it weird on guitar?”
“Choromatsu has the keyboard, and Hatabou’s orchestra is busy.” He shrugs like that’s normal. Well. They have been here for nine months.
((The carol you’ve received is Bing Crosby and David Bowie’s Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy!))
C: You don’t know what that means to us! You made he Halloween shoot something to remember, we’d love to work with you again for Osoko gives the ok!
((She did. The shoot was completed mid December, and Jackie was rewarded handsomely, as well as gifted a small lapel pin in the shape of a flag. You’re now officially a Friend of Hatabou.))
Hatabou’s Christmas party is incredibly exclusive: celebrities the world over, major acts, managers, CEOs, investors.
The lobby and sidewalk, however, are a free show for the residents of Akatsuka Ward and those willing to make the trek to Banderole HQ.
Because they were the newest idols to finish training, a certain set of siblings are on caroling duty. All day and night, they’ll be swapping out for each other or singing in groups, doing their best to remember the dozens of carols they’ve been taught since Halloween.
Ask for a song, and you shall receive! But first, to kick off the festivities, one of their songs written just for the event as the guests file inside. The only way to get this one is to either be in their official fanclub by November 1st or to buy it during the event, so hurry!
((For a song reference chock full of festive jingly happiness and fairytale allusions, check out Bokura no Century by Momoiro Clover Z! This event will run until the 27th if all goes well. Ask for a pair or trio of Matsus, or all of them, and get a carol. Happy holidays!🔔))
With Karamatsu, everything starts off relatively tranquil, the original Karamatsu zoned out at a table around sunset, alone.
A motorcycle helmet is lobbed at his head, knocking him over, and the music immediately picks up to something more decidedly funk.
((For a reference on how this could sound, listen to Makka na Car Chase / 真っ赤なカーチェイス / Bright Red Car Chase by BRADIO!))
The blue-haired version of him is riding with nothing but seriousness and a minor splash of aggravation on his face as his other self leans on one of his shoulders, his other hand above his eyes, intently looking for something or other.
The video seems to be a split between dance shots and storytelling, the two in the same leather jackets, dark jeans, and plain shirts. Where one is stern and reserved (and annoyed), the other is melodramatic and bold (and just a bit ridiculous). Searching for a lost love seemed to be the major theme, both through the words and the video, and it is all very… Karamatsu. Soft focus, twinkling lights, a contrast between blue and amber. He makes sure, from head to toe, that the two versions of himself are as distinct as possible, right down to how they moved. Carefully practiced and precise versus mildly apathetic but still sure of himself.
It all goes so smoothly until Karamatsu’s panicky antics on the back of the bike inspires his other self to pop a wheelie and send him tumbling to the asphalt.
The video splits perspectives after the instrumental break ends. The taller arriving to a place where someone needed him, the shorter needing someone else to tend to his scratches. In the end, it all worked out in some strange way.
