Three. “Choromatsu! Get over there, hands where we can see ‘em!”
Choromatsu looks almost pained when he stands up. “You too, Chibita?!” He walks over to Iyami’s desk, nervousness melting away when he sees the green shirts in the audience.
Iyami’s already unimpressed. “What’s your schtick today, then?”
“Sensibility!”
“Of course it is.”
Choromatsu laughs nervously before elaborating. “See, so far the three who’ve already gone up are talking about already being in a relationship. This vote is all about starting one. The logical thing to do would be talking about that leadup, right? So my song is about confessing and being honest with myself.” He seems pleased as punch until he hears a long fake fart noise from his brothers. “You can make as many gross sounds as you want, it’s still my turn!”
“We can make as many gross sounds as we want?!” The cacophony multiplies by four. (The single “Go forth, dear third!” is ignored.) Choromatsu stomps to his mark, taking a deep breath as the music scrambles to start. The lights are all white and mint green, and he’s immediately playing the part of a nervous suitor.
((For an example of the sound, and of a meaning that can be left mostly intact, listen to Day One by K. Will! And, uh. Keep in mind that this little green bean can’t belt that strongly.))
It begins timidly, hoping to be noticed. He admits right off the bat that he’s not good with traditional sentimentality or cliched things, but he does want this to go right.
The chorus is full of declarations that are both prideful and self deprecating; he’s dashing for someone so ugly, his smile is awkward but cute, even if he’s weird, he adores you.
He’s holding onto the mic stand like it could hide his embarrassment if he just squeezed tight enough. He keeps going, hoping that you can tell just how much being around you makes his head spin, makes him want to change, makes him want to be that guy who does all these grand, romantic things.
As the last chorus approaches, he looks a bit worried. Everyone wonders why until it hits– his voice shakes, but all his lungpower goes into an over five second almost-but-not-quite belt of a note as the song crescendos. He looks like he’s seen a ghost after it, and someone with more practice could have done it better, but something about his eager excitement just makes that attempt endearing.
He’s scared, he’s nervous, but he’s thrilled to be a new him when he’s around you. He means it, even if it makes him a little cared! Because, well.
Choromatsu lowers his eye contact to the ground as the camera zeroes in on his face.
“Because I love you!”
He goes red, hiding his face without letting go of the mic stand, a quiet thunk sounding out as his face hits the microphone.
“We’re baring all today, huh, idjits? Two left! Who’s it gonna be?” Chibita hip-bumps the die down the stairs, adding, “We’re gonna suffer a little either way!”
This person does a breakdown of the brothers interaction throughout the series.
The first graph shows how much a brother says each other’s name. Then the second graph shows how much a brother’s name is said by the others. It’s not actually a measure of interaction or closeness per se. They also note that Choromatsu interacts a lot with Osomatsu but calls him baka or eldest.
Apparently Ichimatsu never actually says Choromatsu’s name in the main series but does refer to him once as “shikoyaro” (fappy bastard) during the last episode.
The gray slice in the pie chart of names Karamatsu says represents “brother”. All usages of “brother” are in this one slice, it doesn’t specify whom he’s calling brother, and sometimes he just addresses the whole group that way.
Totty is said about twice as often as Todomatsu. The brother who says Todomatsu instead most often is Osomatsu.
The graph distinguishes between Karamatsu and Kusomatsu (Shittymatsu) as well as Choromatsu and Shikomatsu (fappymatsu).
Since they’re playing a gig for Valentine’s Day, The Same Faces won’t be free to date … but you were going to give them chocolate anyway, weren’t you? ;D
The gig they’re playing is for a good cause, but they’re not stopping there. They’re also putting on a raffle to raise more money.
Anyone who buys a ticket will get to give chocolate or at least greet their favorite, but the first six people to give chocolate to each brother will also get a kiss from him! (The place and intensity will be decided by how shy or how bold the asker is.)
And if your number is extra lucky, he may give you a gift as well.
How do I enter?
Send in an ask offering Valentine chocolates to your favorite Same Face. If you’re one of the first six to ask for a brother, he’ll give you a kiss.
What if I don’t want to be kissed?
Make it obvious in your ask, so that it can be answered later in the event. I’ll make sure to answer all asks (up to 50), so don’t worry!
