Osomatsu is mostly healed up by the time the boys take the stage in their chocolate-colored suits. (Whatever was still bruised was covered up by their makeup squad. Magicians.)
“I know I won both,” he brags immediately, “but just to be clear, the first one we’re going to do is us giving a confession instead of receiving one from you guys! A song about how telling someone how you feel can seem like preparing for battle!”
((For a sound comparison [and a good reference for their choreography too!], try Chai Maxx ZERO by Momoiro Clover Z!))
Osomatsu, because of his win, not only assumes the front and center spot of the choreography more often than the others do, but gets more space to sing than the others. He starts the call and response section, full to the brim with puns, his solos last a bit longer, and the lights and hearts floating behind them are all shades of red.
Though the steps seemed more clenched fist than bed of roses, it fits them. They’re more used to childhood scuffles than bouquets, and more used to fighting each other than being honest with themselves. The lyrics are rather similar in nature.
Todomatsu tries to dodge the situation and avoid the pressure, telling the others they’ll be fine even though he can’t assure himself of the same thing. He’s willing to let them fail, but what if he does?
Jyuushimatsu charges headfirst into the action (once with Ichimatsu hiked up piggyback style!), but in the end, he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Swinging wildly, hoping he won’t miss!
Ichimatsu feels like he’s going to be sick. Maybe he needs to drink something. Now he’s doubly ill. He can’t do this, he wants to go home. Let him leave.
Choromatsu has charged out his approach logically. He still fears that it’ll go illogically anyway. Unless they do as planned, he is beyond doomed. But it’ll be fine! Probably. Hopefully. It won’t.
Karamatsu has his own way of reassuring his brothers, but none of them see it as anything but a nuisance. He continues to assure himself, because he is just as scared as them, if not more.
The only one not entirely fearful is Osomatsu. He’s got everything ready, his fists are taped, he’s in the ring already. For their sake and his, he’s telling them everything and… at least he’s getting it over with! It’ll be less pressure if they just do it already, right?
With more motivation and some newfound courage, all of them finally charge into battle, hearts at the ready, letting you know that they love you, and they aren’t backing down!
